So last night I had my big moment in the lights. Revels dress rehearsal and they invited about 600 people to come. This was the first show with an audience to see how people would react and let the cast get used to having an audience. Well let me tell you, they loved me. They thought I was the star of the show. I had to let them down gently but it was okay. They were cool with it. I have to admit if my head wasn’t made of wood it would have swelled considerably.
Tonight is opening night and I can’t wait ’cause I’ll have lots of friends out there watching. Just wait until they see me dance on my head. Ha! Even the clog dancers can’t do that and they’re pretty good…for humans.
Well I got to go catch up on some rest. Gotta look good for the big show tonight. Hope to catch some of you there. Be sure to come say hello and check out my cousins at the CD table in the lobby. They’re really friendly.

Dear Mr Coffin,
I hope Pierre has given me your correct address.
He was in my shop yesterday wanting his very worn dancing shoes repaired, and said to send you the bill.
I tried my best, but all I could do was apply boot-black,
because he was unwilling to take them off his feet.
He jumped right up on the workbench and wouldn’t sit still! It was a messy job, and impossible to buff his shoes properly.
Mr Coffin, I am pleased to be at your service, and there is no charge for the polish, but I must ask you to accompany Pierre next time he visits my shop.
Yours truly,
Peaches the Cobbler
Pierre! I saw you dance tonight, but only for a while. Why did you let that lady take you away? I woulda expected you to put up more of a fight, knowing you. Did David give you too much eggnog before the show?
Hello, Pierre! It was great to see you the other night, but they didn’t let you dance for very long, did they? I’ll be sure to ask David to give you more stage time when you boys come to my library in a few months, particularly since the kids love you. By the way, I hope you are letting David nap all day today as he must be plumb tuckered now that Revels is done.
For now, cheers and I’ll see you both soon!
