He was in my shop yesterday wanting his very worn dancing shoes repaired, and said to send you the bill. I tried my best, but all I could do was apply boot-black, because he was unwilling to take them off his feet. He jumped right up on the workbench and wouldn't sit still! It was a messy job, and impossible to buff his shoes properly. Mr Coffin, I am pleased to be at your service, and there is no charge for the polish, but I must ask you to accompany Pierre next time he visits my shop. As long as you let David make all the decisions and manage your performances, you're going to be simply an adjunct to his career.
