Life at Sea: A Voyage in Song

Explore the life of a sailor, a whaler, a fisherman and hear the songs that illustrate the life they pursued at sea. Sing along on a shanty (work song) as we "hoist" the sails, "haul" on the lines, and stamp around the capstan. A salty lot we are as we imagine ourselves sailing around the horn on a square rigger.

The Wreck of the Whaleship Essex: A True Story in Song

Take off on a Nantucket Whaling Ship around the horn to the 18th century hunting grounds of the South Pacific on board the Whaleship Essex. Set sail on the tragic vessel whose story inspired Herman Melvilles, Moby Dick, written in 1851. We head out from the most famous whaling community in the world on a doomed voyage of unimaginable proportions.

Boston By Sea: A Seafaring Adventure Through Bostons Past was a one of a kind harbor cruise in Boston during the summer, and in the classroom (From Boston Harbor...) during the school year. We take a clockwise tour passing Old North Church (Paul Revere), Old Ironsides (Powder Monkeys), and then the remains of the famous shipbuilding yards of Donald McKay (the Greyhounds of the Sea).
